Etihad to start connecting China and India
Etihad Cargo reinstated a twice-weekly freighter service from Shanghai to Abu Dhabi, via Chennai, today, 8 December. With the additional freighter service the cargo and logistics arm of the Etihad Aviation Group provides additional capacity to two key global markets.
Martin Drew, Etihad senior vice-president for global sales and cargo activities has ascertained that “India’s industrial production is rising and manufacturing output is rebounding, driven by increases in the production of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and metals, amongst other factors.”
This addition follows the introduction of twice-weekly direct flights to Guangzhou, turning Etihad Airways into the first international airline to operate long-haul cargo and passenger services to the top three Chinese gateways – Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou – since the beginning of the pandemic.
