Ermewa supplies 180 wagons for Riedbahn upgrade
Germany’s first corridor renovation is scheduled to start in July 2024. The busy Riedbahn railway line, which connects Mannheim and Frankfurt, will be completely renovated and therefore closed for several months. The availability of rolling stock for the transport of tracks, ballast and other materials plays an important role in this upgrade.
DB Fahrwegdienste, which is to ensure the transport of materials, is hiring 180 container wagons (120 Sgnss 60' and 60 Sgmmness 40') from Ermewa for the project.
The last tranche of six wagons has now been handed over in Stolberg. The new units with GPS sensors and K-blocks were manufactured in the Tatrawagonka (Slovakia) and Duro Dakovic (Croatia) workshops. (ben)
