Ensuring cool chain integrity with new conveyor system
Dematic is once again installing a fully automatic high-bay storage system in Agristo’s deep-freeze warehouse. The food specialist is expanding its site in Wielsbeke (Belgium), and has also mandated Dematic to integrate a modern transport system with eight pallet cranes and lifts, plus a conveyor system.
Dematic’s solutions will automate all of Agristo’s logistics processes from storage to transporting goods to trucks. The work is due to be competed and commissioned for October 2019.
The Dematic conveyor system encompasses a high-bay warehouse with eight aisles, each with its own pallet crane that have telescopic forks for stacking/retrieving goods. Pallet lifts are used to move the products to the conveyor belts from where they are either transported to the picking stations or to the shipping department. (mw)
