Enlarging capacities in Satigny
Swiss player Safram, an affiliate of the French Heppner Group since January this year, will soon open the doors of a new warehouse on an existing site in the western part of Switzerland.
This facility is especially dedicated to the storage of dangerous goods, meeting the respective national and European requirements. It is built according to Atex (explosion proof) rules and is equipped with video surveillance and automatic fire extinguishers. Nearly 10,000 pallets of class 3 to 9 products can be stored there on shelves in safety.
"Commissioned from 1 May 2022, this new warehouse is located 800 m from the main centre of Satigny, near Geneva," said Christophe Hottelier, CSO of Safram.
The proximity of the new warehouse to the company’s already existing site doubles the group's Seveso storage capacity from 5,000 sqm to 10,000 sqm. It is also an advantage in terms of risk management, as both facilities are subject to the same security procedures. In total, Safram has 60,000 sqm of warehouses, 25,000 sqm of which meet Seveso or similar requirements. (sh)
