Enhancing warehouse capacities on the Adriatic
After receiving the green light in form of the operational permit for its new multipurpose warehouse, Luka Koper is extending its logistics range. The new enclosed facility covers an area of approximately 2,800 sqm between the existing warehouses 50F and 51A.
The space is free of intermediate columns, allowing unhindered handling. The roof structure of the warehouse, which is 7 m high, is made of pole beams laid on steel columns. Located on Pier II, the enclosed warehouse has a floor-load capacity of 70 kN/sqm, which is enough to support some hefty metal products as well.
The property is already being used to store industrial wire for the automotive industry, coming from Asia and travelling to Hungary and Czechia. The investment is worth just over EUR 1 million. There are currently 400,000 sqm of enclosed warehouses at the port. (sh)
