Energy-positive on 37 hectares
Neither net-negative nor net-neutral: Idec Group Iberica is building Europe’s first energy-positive logistics and industrial park in Southern Spain.
Spanning a surface area of 37 hectares, the site has already reached the second phase of development, which has created a 42,000 sqm logistics platform that can be shared between multiple users. It features multiple access points, an interchange for future traffic, a rail terminal, and many more structures.
Located in Antequera, the park is close to Algericas, Malaga and Cadiz, earning the title “the dry port of Andalusia”. In terms of sustainability, the group is aiming for a Breaam Level Excellent certificate. The plan is to harness various forms of local energy to create an even production mix. Surplus energy will be used to produce renewable hydrogen. (mk)
