Emerging in two more markets
Six months after expanding its business into Chile, Emergent Cold Latin America, a refrigerated storage and logistics service provider based in São Paulo, Brazil, has acquired two more companies.
The acquisition of Polo Logístico de Frio (PLF), which has a strong market reputation and a diverse customer base, marks the company's entry into Uruguay, the third largest beef exporter in Latin America. Emergent Latam also committed to double PLF’s facility (photo), located approximately 30 km from the port of Montevideo, creating operational improvements and enhanced service offerings.
Only in April, Emergent Latam acquired Frigorifico Metropolitano (Frigometro), a major cold storage operator in Colombia, with 29,000 pallet positions across four locations in key markets: Cartagena, Buga, Bucaramanga and Bogotá. (ah)
