Electronic tolling services to expand in Europe
Kapsch Traffic Com, which specialises in intelligent transport systems, has acquired the remaining 35% of the shares of Tolltickets, a German provider of tolling services. Kapsch had held already 65% of the shares since July 2016. Kapsch will shortly start testing its on board unit and can then offer electronic tolling services in Germany.
Meanwhile, Kapsch TrafficCom and Tolltickets are continually expanding their portfolio across Europe. A western link, which connects all motorway networks in France, Spain and Portugal, is already in operation.
In central and eastern Europe, Tolltickets provides tolling services for heavy-duty vehicles. Soon, tolling services will also be available in Belgium, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. (ben)
