Electric trucks for intra-urban deliveries
Heppner, a provider of logistics solutions specialising in transports to and from France, is planning to integrate a first batch of 16 fully electric commercial vehicles into its fleet. The 16 t and 18 t trucks manufactured by Volta Trucks will be deployed for deliveries in intra-urban areas ("last mile").
The "Volta Zero" are equipped with a 150 to 225 kWh battery and have a range of 150 to 200 km. The project is part of a strategic plan for CO2 reduction that includes electricity in the energy mix alongside CNG/bio-CNG, biofuel and three-wheeled vehicles.
Heppner began converting its fleet in 2021, in anticipation of the introduction of new legislation on low-emission zones in France. (ben)
