Electric HGV can carry 74 t

More and more hauliers are investing in electric trucks – including logistics providers in the heavy haulage segment. This is also the case for the Swedish company Mattson Akeri in Gothenburg, which has purchased three electric heavy-duty trucks from Volvo Trucks.

The model is already being tested in container traffic in the port area of Arendal in Gothenburg as part of a high-capacity transport project. The truck is 32 m long with two trailers and can handle a total towing weight of 74 t

The Volvo FH Electric 6X4 is charged with green electricity using two 180 kW fast chargers that Mattsson Akeri has installed at its depot. In the long term, the truck will also run between Gothenburg and Boras, a town 70 km away. (ben)
