Egyptair receives second A330-200P2F
Egyptair Cargo has taken delivery of its second EFW Airbus A330-200 passenger-to-freighter conversion (P2F), as part of its upgradation and modernisation drive. The 13 year old aircraft was flown from Dresden (Germany) to Cairo, and ground tests and acceptance procedures were finished on 31 January.
The A330 offers up to 26 main deck and 32 LD3 lower deck positions - and that means 30% more volume than the older A300-600P2F. EFW has performed its fourth A330 conversion after successful STC approval at the end of 2017 on the A330-300 for launch customer DHL.
The STC for the A330-200 was released in mid-2018 for Egyptair Cargo, which will receive a third and final unit in June, as part of the company’s strategic plan to enter new markets in Africa, and some European and Gulf countries. (ah)
