Edwards to lead VPA
Stephen Edwards is to become the next CEO and executive director of the Virginia Port Authority (VPA). He will assume his new responsibilities from 19 January 2021. Currently he is president and CEO of TraPac, which operates container terminals in Los Angeles, Oakland and Florida, and responsible for the company's overall performance.
Prior to this role, Edwards held various leading positions in other port groups, for instance as Global Container Terminals' CEO. Joining VPA, Edwards succeeds John F. Reinhart, who worked for the organisation for the last seven years.
After Reinhart announced his retirement for March 2021, John G. Milliken, chairman of the VPA board, held a vote at a virtual meeting on resolution 20-19 to appoint Edwards as CEO and executive director. “The board has made clear that economic growth is now job number one for the new CEO,” he said.
