Edeka strengthens Stuttgart presence
Edeka Südwest is moving into its newest distribution hub, developed by Garbe Industrial Real Estate near Stuttgart. The company will use the site as a local base to supply beverages and goods to its grocery stores between Heilbronn and Lake Constance.
With an area of 14,500 sqm, the hub features 12,000 sqm of hall space, mezzanine floors and office space. There is also a 520 sqm tunnel for loading and unloading trucks from the side, reducing noise emissions.
The location in Holzgerlingen’s industrial district has good transport links to key regions: Böblingen is 7 km and Stuttgart 30 km away. With the use of sustainable construction materials and eco-friendly heating and energy supplies, the developer is aiming for a DGNB certification. (mk)
