Eastern and Globalx - but all USA
Global Crossing Airlines ("Globalx") has signed a letter of intent with two affiliates of Singapore-based technology, defence, and engineering group ST Engineering to convert five A321 passenger aircraft into freighters.
Under the deal with their subsidiary ST Engineering Aerospace America and EFW, the group’s JV with Airbus, the aircraft will be converted at ST Engineering’s facilities.
While the Miami-headquartered start-up which is in its FAA certification phase, intends to operate as a charter airline serving the USA, Caribbean and Latin America, Eastern Air, founded only ten years ago and operating under this prestigious name since 2018, is already serving this region with B767 (photo: inaugural flight to Guayaquil, Ecuador, last January). It now seems to be pushing cargo plans as well, having hired Mike Duggan as director of international cargo business development. (ah)
