E-truck passes cold-endurance test in Finland
Renault Truck tested its ‘E-Tech T Diamond Echo’ lorry on a nine-month European tour. The journey started in Lyon (France) in April 2024 and ended at the turn of the year, after a 24,000 km journey to Finnish Lapland.
On the last stage in the far north, the e-truck passed a particularly tough test with flying colours. Between Helsinki and Rovaniemi, the regional capital of Lapland (both Finland), the vehicle covered 1,600 km in temperatures as low as –19°C without any problems, including a 250 km stage on a single charge and a 700 km day with two intermediate charges.
The conclusion? The expedition has shown that electric trucks are fully operational even under extremely difficult winter conditions, according to the French manufacturer. (ben)
