E-commerce for e-cigarettes
BAT's German subsidiary has signed a cooperation with Arvato to manage its e-commerce business, which is selling e-cigarettes and heating products. From the Marienfeld site, Arvato will take care of incoming goods, storage, warehousing, distribution and other tasks.
The e-cigarettes and heating products will be stored, picked, and dispatched in Marienfeld. Delivery takes place within 48 hours.
Arvato will use automation technology to set up and close the cartons to ensure efficient processes and speed up warehouse operations. The heat and energy supply of the logistics centre is emission-neutral with a photovoltaic system and heat pumps.
"The transformation of BAT's business is a process to which we are happy to contribute our services and customer-oriented approach," says Bastian Fricke, director account management at Arvato. (mk)
