E-Ceva for Decathlon in Thailand
In Thailand, Ceva Logistics is using an expanded fleet of electric vehicles to distribute Decathlon products. The fleet of three electric vans and two electric straight trucks are supporting the shipper’s expansion plans in Asia while reducing annual carbon emissions by more than 100 t.
Decathlon is a major sporting goods retailer, based in France and currently present in 56 countries through more than 2,000 stores. Ceva first began to work for Decathlon in Thailand in 2021 on a nationwide ground distribution basis for the shipper’s six retail stores at the time. Decathlon’s network in the country has since grown to 14 stores and eight “click & collect” locations.
The new vehicle fleet is expected to operate 5,500 trips per year totalling approximately 1,448,400 km, including picking up products from local suppliers, delivering them to the Decathlon distribution centre in Samutprakarn and feeding merchandise into the nationwide retail network. (sh)
