DX to invest in new freight parcel depot
The delivery company plans a new facility in the East Midlands, UK. The GBP 12 million (EUR 14.03 million) hub will include a new depot serving the local area.
Detailed planning permission has been secured and the acquisition of the site is expected to complete within the next two months, DX said. The location will be located near Nottingham at New Stanton Park Industrial Estate. It will have a 2322,576 sqm footprint and will be developed to service the group's parcel freight activities.
Construction is expected to be completed during Q2/2024. The new depot will replace an existing freight depot in Nottingham, which will become a 2-Man supersite.
The investment in the new regional hub is in addition to DX's three-year investment programme of between GBP 20 million and GBP 25 million (EUR 23.4 million - EUR 29.2 million), which is focused on expanding the group's depot network, adding handling equipment and enhancing IT. (ben)
