Duvenbeck scaling e-fleet

Duvenbeck has reported that it has launched series operations with Man’s ETGX ultra low-liner electric truck, running it between its Herne logistics hub and Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg plant.

The e-truck uses public charging infrastructure and a charging station at Duvenbeck’s transhipment center in Herne on the 317 km route, with supplier parts consolidated before transport.

Duvenbeck CEO Hakan Bicil said that integrating electric trucks is in line with the company’s sustainability goals. By the end of this month Duvenbeck’s fleet will include 15 Man ETGX lorries, with plans to expand to 120 units as agreed in a letter of intent with Man.

The charging network will be expanded this year with a new facility in Peine. This initiative is part of Volkswagen’s ‘Go to zero impact’ logistics programme, which aims to reduce CO₂ emissions. (js)
