Duisport: positive results for 2022
The Duisport Group (Duisburg) has presented a positive annual balance sheet for 2022, with an increased operating result compared to 2021: "Fortunately, the economic impact of the Ukraine war was not as strong for the Duisport Group as we initially feared," says CEO Markus Bangen (centre, flanked by the other two board members, Carsten Hinne and Lars Nennhaus).
In fact, last year’s total performance was around EUR 332.7 million, after EUR 346.8 million in 2021. At the same time, container throughput fell by 7% to around 4 million teu.
For 2023, the group has earmarked EUR 55 million of financial resources for tangible and financial investments as well as maintenance measures. The company’s plans include sustainable energy products and the construction of the Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) on the former coal island and the bridge to the neighbouring port area in Duisburg-Ruhrort.
