Duisport moves into packaging
Duisburger Hafen (Duisport) is expanding its industrial packaging portfolio and taking over RK Verpackungssysteme with retroactive effect from 1 January. The Duisport Group will benefit from RK’s 60-year expertise in this market.
RK has 60 employees and runs a 16,000 sqm facility for the production of innovative export boxes and wooden packaging systems in Gelsenkirchen. The acquisition gives Duisport access to RK’s local network in North Rhine Westphalia.
The group recently purchased shares in the British company Crocodile Packaging, adding the company’s products, dubbed “clipped crates”, to its portfolio. They will now also be produced in Gelsenkirchen. (mk)
