Duisport: audited results for FY 2020
Despite a difficult business climate, the Duisport Group achieved an improved result with stable sales in the past fiscal year. Sales of EUR 292 million equalled the previous year's result (2019: EUR 292.6 million), while ebitda improved by 1.1% from EUR 43.9 million to EUR 44.3 million. Net income after tax increased by 6.9% from EUR 13.3 million to EUR 14.2 million.
Previously reported container throughput figures (+5% to 4.2 million teu) were confirmed. Total cargo throughput declined slightly to 59 million t (2019: 61.1 million t).
In the packaging logistics business segment, revenues dropped by 14.9% to EUR 86.8 million, but contract logistics grew by 13.8% to EUR 33.8 million, while infra and superstructure remained stable at EUR 53.6 million. Logistics services achieved an increase of 13% to EUR 85.8 million.
While the Port of Duisburg made investments of approximately EUR 39 million in the pandemic year 2020, CEO Erich Staatke said that "we are planning investments in the amount of EUR 170 million in the next three years.” (cd)
