Dual leadership for Barig
Jorge Carretero (Latam Cargo, on the right) and Thilo Schäfer (Condor, on the left) are the new leaders of the air cargo committee of the ‘Board of Airline Representatives in Germany’ (Barig). Together they’ll drive key initiatives, including digitalisation and process optimisation in airfreight.
Air cargo moves around 5 billion t of freight globally every year, valued at EUR 340 billion. In Germany it plays a vital role in support of exports. Barig has long been committed to improving industry conditions.
Schäfer said that “Germany remains a key hub for global airfreight, but faces increasing pressures,” adding that “by leveraging international expertise we can strengthen our efficiency and our ability to compete.” (ah)
