DSV launches internal carbon fee
The Danish logistics company has launched a global funding programme to invest in sustainability initiatives in its organisation. The internal carbon pricing fee is charged to all DSV subsidiaries, and their contributions will be based on the level of CO2 emissions within their operations.
The funds generated will be invested in innovation programmes and projects to accelerate DSV’s emissions-reduction initiatives. DSV aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. With the carbon pricing fee programme, DSV expects to raise DKK 1 billion (EUR 1.34 billion) for sustainable initiatives and innovation projects over the first five years.
The first project to receive funding is a small fleet of electric trucks, which will be delivered in early 2024 and will support warehousing customers for local distribution from DSV’s facilities in Horsens, Denmark. (ben)
