DSV introduces fast China–Europe road freight
There’s no business as usual with Covid-19 around. Passenger flight cancellations are putting pressure on airfreight, causing capacity constraints. DSV’s new intercontinental road bridge between China and Europe offers a reliable alternative. With door-to-door transit times of 14–18 days and reasonable rates, DSV’s Silkway Express is competitive against air, rail and sea freight solutions, the forwarder said.
In addition to quick transit times at rates lower than for air freight, DSV collects the cargo from the shipper when it’s ready. This means customers don’t have to consider closing and cut-off times for vessels, railways or air schedules. According to DSV, the goods can also be moved seven days a week with multiple pick-up and delivery locations possible. (ben)
