Driverless truck service to launch in Texas
Aurora has opened a commercial-ready terminal in Houston, TX, USA, in preparation for the driverless truck services it plans to launch in late 2024. With this new facility, the autonomous driver specialist can support driverless trucks on the lane between Dallas and Houston.
Aurora is also preparing a command centre to support around-the-clock commercial operations. The company’s terminals operate 24/7/365, handling more than 75 loads a week. Aurora uses them to house, maintain, prepare, inspect, and deploy autonomous trucks between destinations.
The Houston terminal is located in a logistics hub near FedEx and other pilot customers. Aurora’s self-driving system is designed to operate multiple vehicle types. (ben)
