DPD to swallow City Sprint
DPD UK, part of the European DPD Group owned by La Poste in France, will acquire City Sprint, a major same-day and last-mile delivery company based in UK. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed and the transaction is still subject to regulatory clearance.
The existing City Sprint leadership team around CEO Gary West will remain in place, as DPD announced. City Sprint, which was founded in 1999, runs a network comprising 30 service centres in UK with a geographical reach to over 88% of the mainland population within 60 minutes, as the firm claims. (sh)
