DPD France contracts Axians
Parcel service provider DPD France will continue to use Cargonet, a logistics system developed by Axians ICT Austria, for another ten years. DPD has been working with the software platform for 25 years. "We have been working with DPD on a pay-per-use model from the very beginning.
"Against the background of the booming parcel business, we want to continue our cooperation on the basis of a risk-sharing model," says Edgar Reiter, CEO Axians ICT Austria.
Cargonet is a software for express and parcel services that handles all transport logistics as from a volume of five million parcels per year. It was developed in Linz in 1994, where a specialised team is still working on continuous further development.
DPD France, as part of the DPD Group, employs more than 2,100 people, and 58 depots deliver an average of 420,000 parcels every day. (sh)
