DPD and GLS take on parcel project
Last week, the parcel service providers DPD and GLS formed a partnership to enhance access to drop-off and collection points in Germany.
Launching the three-year ‘out of home’ project, the companies plan to boost their delivery networks from 8,000 points each to 20,000 sites. This will benefit their respective customers and provide an opportunity for e-retailers and parcel shop operators to work with both service providers.
Additionally, DPD and GLS seek to create an open network of lockers nationwide by the end of next year, which will be offered to all market players or CEP services.
DPD Germany’s CEO, Karsten: “The parcel industry needs creative solutions to best fulfill its customers’ needs for convenience and sustainable future – and this partnership is exactly that.” (mk)
