Double decker inside the container
Dutch provider Mooij Forwarding & Logistics has commissioned eighteen containers with a double-deck loading system to run on European corridors.
The company operates daily connections between various destinations in eastern and western Europe, where it has been using large-volume trailers with double loading floors for some time now. Mooij has also developed a double loading concept for sea containers. It offers its double-deck transports multi-modally (road / rail / inland waterway / short sea / ferry).
The 45 ft containers in the high-cube version have an internal height of 298 cm. Vertical profiles are attached to the inner walls with which loading beams can be hung horizontally at any height. This doubles the capacity of the container from 33 to 66 Euro pallets (or from 27 to 54 block pallets). The containers are transported by road on special low container chassis. (sh)
