Dongguan: a key air cargo hub
Yusen Logistics has expanded its services at Dongguan Humen Bonded Logistics Park (BLP), which now include handling air import cargoes. This allows for a one-stop solution for imports and exports via Hong Kong International Airport.
Previously, Yusen focused on taking export-bound cargo to Hong Kong’s airport via feeder vessels before loading them onto aircraft. Now, overseas customers can benefit from a simplified shipping route, arriving in Dongguan in just one stop. This service has been operational since May 2024, and the company has already handled inbound cargo from Taiwan and Thailand.
Yusen is planning to expand its capabilities in Dongguan and use it as an air cargo distribution base for the Greater Bay Area. Import as well as export handling services can thus be provided in close proximity to the world’s largest cargo airport. (mk)
