Don't inject that!

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Indianapolis have seized four shipments of counterfeit Botox with a total estimated retail value of USD 8,500.

The packages originated from Great Britain and Indonesia and were misdeclared as ‘marketing samples’ or ‘cosmetic preparations’. The seizures included 14 Botox vials (100 units), one Botox vial (200 units), and one Dysport vial (500 units). The products were destined for addresses in Michigan, California and New Jersey. Botox is regulated by the FDA and may not be imported without proper documentation.

The CBP warned that counterfeit medical products often pose serious health risks due to unknown ingredients and unsanitary production conditions. The agency urges consumers to buy pharmaceuticals only from licensed sources and have them administered by qualified professionals. (ah)
