Direct Bangladesh-Japan service

From October 2022, Yusen Logistics is launching its own consolidation ocean and forwarding service from Chattogram port, Bangladesh, to the ports of Tokyo and Kobe. The company will employ feeder vessels from Chattogram port to Singapore and Port Klang.

At present, less-than-container load (LCL) ocean freight from Bangladesh is shipped mainly on CO-load multi-country consolidation services from Singapore port and Port Klang port, but there are concerns about cargo loss and damage, as well as difficulties in keeping track of schedules.

As a remedy, Yusen's service will offer a tracking system, a transhipment for each container and protection against risks of pilferage and damage.

Furthermore, Yusen will use its contracted warehouse adjacent to Chattogram port instead of units in the port area. The warehouse has 90 CCTV cameras to monitor cargoes 24 hours a day. (sh)
