Digital takeover for Green Steam
Green Steam has acquired BMT’s data collection and performance optimisation subsidiary firm Smart, which is located in the United Kingdom. Green Steam, founded in 2007 and with locations in Denmark, the United Kingdom and Poland, specialises in machine learning for improved hull and vessel performance in shipping.
This purchase, said the company in a press release, follows a strategic business review by Green Steam to expand its portfolio of services, extend its data collection capabilities and expand its service team.
David McSweeney, CFO of BMT, commented: “We are pleased to complete the sale of Smart. Green Steam has a strong strategy in place in machine learning-based vessel performance solutions that synergises the digital and consulting aspects of the existing business.” (fd)
