Digital access to rail system now online
The Austrian ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has been working for some time on the digitisation of its services and end-to-end logistics processes.
Effective 1 September 2020, customers can enter this digital world with the aid of SmartLINK. The tool provides access to available services and offers a clear overview of all combinable elements required for railfreight transport, RCG said.
SmartLINK guides customers through the following steps: firstly, they choose a route from a list of scheduled or individual TransFER connections. Then they access information about the equipment available and the relevant services and add-ons. Finally, they can contact customer advisors, who work with them to create specific offers. (ben)
