DHL Supply Chain: EUR 350 million for SE Asia
DHL Supply Chain is planning to invest EUR 350 million in Southeast Asia over the next five years to expand its warehouse capacity, workforce and sustainability initiatives in this region. The company will thus add another 400,000 sqm to its existing warehouse footprint in Southeast Asia, which currently totals 160 ha.
The company’s network includes locations in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. Central to the plans are initiatives in robotics and automation, such as warehouse management systems, automated storage and retrieval systems and driverless transport.
DHL Group has also set itself the goal of achieving climate-neutral logistics by 2030 and plans to double its electric vehicle fleet in Southeast Asia over the next five years. Already today, all locations in Singapore and Malaysia are climate neutral. (mk)
