DHL strengthens cooperation with Mattel in Australia
DHL Supply Chain and the toy maker Mattel have strengthened their long-term partnership with the opening of a new dedicated logistics distribution centre in Truganina, in the Australian state of Victoria.
The 25,690 sqm warehouse features an automated labelling and sorting system that will increase efficiencies in Mattel’s supply chain, consolidate operations from two existing sites in Melbourne and provide additional dock space for inbound goods and outbound truck loading operations.
The new hub will combine the activities of receiving products from Mattel factories, storing, picking and packing and distributing to Mattel’s customers throughout Australia, including large volumes for the Christmas season every year. In addition, the facility will provide services for repacking Mattel products for promotions and store displays. (mw)
