DHL investing AUD 17 million at Brisbane airport

DHL Global Forwarding, the freight specialist arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, held a ground ceremony for its new 4,880 sqm facility in Brisbane Airport this week.

DHL Global Forwarding is investing AUD 17 million (EUR 11 million) over ten years in the new facility, which houses the largest portfolio of international cold chain services in Brisbane. The new hub is set to be ready by early 2023.

George Lawson, managing director, (pictured right with Lachlan Elliott, Brisbane station manager on his left), DHL Global Forwarding Australia: "The expansion of our facilities at Brisbane airport reflects the tremendous growth in perishables export and a growing Southeast Queensland population that is expected to rise by 31% over the next 20 years."
