DHL enhances Leipzig location
Contract logistics provider DHL Supply Chain is building a new 34,000 sqm logistics hub Leipzig/Halle, Germany and thus expanding its existing site which it has been operating for an electronics manufacturer.
The campus at Leipzig/Halle will now feature 55,000 pallet spaces, giving clients from the technology and other sectors additional storage capacity. DHL Supply Chain provides manual put-away, picking, and value-added services at the hub.
Located close to a second site in Leipzig as well as rail and road networks, the property is connected to the local cargo airport and other transport routes.
Leipzig/Halle is the largest hub within the DHL Express global network and enables airfreight shipments to international destinations. In compliance with DGNB sustainability criteria, DHL Supply Chain is planning a carbon-neutral operation of the building, including a photovoltaic system and heat pumps. (mk)
