Developing and operating another port in Egypt
AD Ports Group has signed several agreements with Egyptian authorities for multi-purpose, ro-ro and cruise terminals, as well as logistics services in key Red Sea and Mediterranean ports.
A 30-year concession agreement signed with the Red Sea Ports Authority will enable the Abu Dhabi-based company to develop and operate a multi-purpose terminal at Safaga Port, thus becoming the first internationally operated port in the Upper Egypt region, bringing cost savings to regional traders, industries, and businesses.
The USD 200 million terminal will cover an area of 810,000 sqm and is set to be operational in Q2/2025. It will feature a quay wall of up to 1,000 m and be able to handle 450,000 teu of containerised cargo, 50,000 ceu of ro-ro cargo, 5 million t of dry bulk and general cargo, as well as 1 million t of liquid bulk.
