Deugro celebrating delivery and launch
Deugro, Siemens Gamesa and Amasus Offshore have celebrated two major milestones – namely the delivery of the newbuilding ‘Rotra Futura’, and the launch of its sistership, the ‘Rotra Horizon’.
The ‘Rotra Futura’ was handed over at Zhenjiang Shipyards in China on 30 March, while the ‘Rotra Horizon’ was launched just four days later. Delivery is expected in July.
Designed to meet the evolving needs of offshore wind logistics, both vessels feature ro-ro ramps, three Liebherr cranes, a gantry system for multi-tier blade transport and hybrid propulsion systems that cut emissions. Each vessel is 167 m long and optimised for high cargo intake and low fuel consumption.
The new ships will help transport larger offshore wind components, supporting Deugro’s and Siemens Gamesa’s push for greener, more efficient supply chains in the global energy transition. (ah)
