Denmark eases pocket wagon ban
The Danish Transport, Building and Housing Authority has allowed Luxembourg-based CFL and TX Logistik (Germany) to resume the use of pocket wagons to transport semi-trailers on the country’s rail network, with immediate effect.
Approval was granted after the authority examined the documentation and verification of the process for securing trailers on pocket wagons that was jointly submitted by the two rail service providers.
In the aftermath of the severe train accident on the Storebælt bridge, the Danish authority initially banned the use of pocket wagons for hauling semi-trailers for 14 days. (ben)
