Deme to ship 112 foundations for Nordlicht
Deme has secured two contracts for Nordlicht 1 and 2 offshore wind farms in the North Sea in Germany.
The company will transport and install 112 foundations in the Nordlicht wind farm. The zone can provide energy for 1.7 million households. Vattenfall is developing and building the cluster with key partner BASF. The final investment decision is yet to be taken, but Vattenfall has already conducted a signing ceremony. Construction starts in 2026 and the wind farm is expected to start powering households by 2028.
Cyril Moss, the executive project director for Nordlicht 1 at Vattenfall, says that “Deme’s proven expertise in German waters and its advanced installation capabilities” make him confident for the completion of the foundations, which is “key to delivering reliable, renewable energy to millions of households.” (js)
