Delta's long haul services open for... passengers
Demand for air cargo is driving the return of Delta's passenger services from the USA to Europe for the first time since Covid-19 closed borders.
From tomorrow, 21 May 2020, flights to Frankfurt and London will provide cargo capacity three times weekly from Atlanta (31 t on A330-300) and Detroit (26 t on B767-300), respectively. They are also available for customer travel.
Shawn Cole, VP Delta Cargo: "We're receiving daily requests for shipments of medical supplies as well as goods that keep businesses in operation. By also opening these services to passengers, we can facilitate essential travel."
Delta has also launched scheduled cargo-only flights between New York JFK and Mumbai, India, starting 16 May, and continues to operate such services from Asia to transport medical equipment to the USA. (ah)
