Delivering vital vaccines from India to Egypt
Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Aviation Group, and global supply chain company EFL (Expolanka Freight) have carried a vital consignment of vaccines from India, the world's largest manufacturer of vaccines according to WHO, to Egypt.
Leveraging Etihad Cargo’s Iata CEIV certification for pharmaceutical logistics and capability to facilitate temperature-sensitive cargo shipments, and EFL’s CEIV and GDP compliance, the two entities collaborated to carry a consignment of 12,475,000 tetanus and diphtheria vaccine doses.
Maintaining the shipment's integrity, EFL handed over the shipment to the airline in Mumbai, with the UAE’s national carrier transiting the consignment through its Abu Dhabi hub en route to Cairo, maintaining the required +2⁰C to +8⁰C temperature ranges.
