Delivering parcels by river
La Poste is partnering with Fludis to introduce a new barge-based parcel delivery service in Île-de-France, making urban logistics more sustainable. Starting in 2026, the barge will transport 3,000 parcels daily from Gennevilliers to Boulogne, where cargo bikes will handle last-mile delivery.
This initiative, which aims to decarbonise logistics and reduce road traffic by 200,000 km annually, aligns with La Poste's commitment to achieving low-carbon deliveries in 22 French metropolitan areas by 2025, continuing its efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the Paris region. (pb)
