Death of Latam Argentina
Eight months after suspending its flight operations, Latam Argentina has now officially ceased to exist. Flights between twelve destinations in Argentina as well as four international connections (Miami, São Paulo, Santiago de Chile and Lima) are affected. Before the pandemic, the airline’s weekly cargo volume averaged 270 t in exports and 290 t in imports.
Latam Argentina was created in 2005 after Aero 2000 was taken over by LAN Chile. As part of their merger with the Brazilian TAM Linhas Aéreas in 2012, Latam Airlines was founded within the Latam Group.
Latam Argentina, the South American country’s second largest airline after Aérolineas Argentinas, had a fleet of thirteen A320 and two B767-300ER. (ah)
