DB Schenker investing in Ireland
DB Schenker has completed three of its four development projects in Ireland. Sites in Shannon, Leixlip and Baldonnell are now fully operational after EUR 94 million of investment in new facilities in the country. An additional facility in Dublin, designed to house DB Schenker’s overland operations in Ireland, is scheduled for completion in January 2025.
Demand from healthcare and technology customers is powering strong growth of DB Schenker’s business in Ireland, where it now employs 800 people.
Eoghan Turner, its head of real estate in the UK and Ireland, says that “we’ve successfully completed several large-scale projects recently, including our 220,000 sqft Leixlip facility, which is certified ‘LEED Gold’, a long-term lease covering 130,000 sqft at Baldonnell Business Park, and our new facility in Shannon.” (mk)
