Data technology for tank cars
Liquid gas tank manufacturer Chemet has commissioned technology specialist Nexxiot to digitise the monitoring of tank cars. Chemet, which is based in Poland and France, is thus the first manufacturer in Europe to offer compressed gas tank cars with digital technology.
The technology will be installed in newly built pressurised gas tank cars and transmit real-time information about position, running time performance and mechanical forces acting on the tank from outside.
In addition, the system sends alerts when the temperature in the tank changes significantly, as well as predictions about disruptive factors that may adversely affect the transport. (ben)
