Data makes a network denser
Waco, a global freight management and logistics organisation founded in 1973 that now has 127 members in 119 countries, has negotiated a partnership with Bluebox Systems. Air and maritime freight activities are set to become more transparent.
With its ‘Bluebox Air’ service the logistics IT services provider from Bonn (Germany) accesses data from more than 130 airlines, thus making it possible to track the position of an aircraft in real time. This also includes constantly updated information about the expected time of delivery of a shipment.
‘Bluebox Ocean’ is based on a partnership with Vizion, through whose API essential, reliable and complete container data can be integrated to achieve end-to-end transparency. This enriched dataset is designed to enable Waco members to track approximately 98% of the world’s maritime freight volumes.
Waco members can now collaborate through both of these platforms. Exchanging documents and comments on every consignment, as well as combining precise shipment data, also applies to both of these transport solutions. This enables joint customers to intervene during the entire transport process, in order to make corrections and thus prevent delays.
